I know, right? MMMM THE DARKLING!

  14. Avery Moore
    Posted January 7, 2013 at 9:18 am | Permalink

This is hard. there are so many awesome books coming out!

If I had to pick… BLOOD OF DRAGONS by Robin Hobb, A DARKNESS STRANGE AND LOVELY by Susan Dennard, SIEGE AND STORM by Leigh Bardugo, ORIGIN by Jennifer L. Armentrout (I still feel like sobbing every time I think about Opal’s ending), Divergent 3 by Veronica Roth and RACING SAVANNAH by Miranda Kenneally.

So, that wasn’t a short list. And there are many, many more, plus a lot of books that have already been published but I’m dying to read. 2013 is going to be a good reading year!

    • Posted January 7, 2013 at 9:27 am | Permalink

Oh my gosh, you just mentioned Robin Hobb and BLOOD OF DRAGONS. That means we are officially friends. ;) Also, thank you so much for mentioning my own book!! Something about seeing my title next to Robin Hobb made my heart pound in a happy, HAPPY way!! :D

      • Avery Moore
        Posted January 7, 2013 at 10:47 am | Permalink

Robin Hobb is just… EPIC! (And I am going to leave it at that, or I will go into full fangirl mode.) And your book deserves it. SS&D was so awesome and that ending… Not many authors do something like that, and it made me love SS&D even more.

Of course, I don’t know if I likeyou. I mean, you write something awesome, and then you make me wait a whole year for a sequel! You must be a very, very cruel person. (Kidding, you are amazing.)

        • Posted January 7, 2013 at 11:20 am | Permalink

Hahaha!! You’d better like me–OR ELSE. ;) In all honesty, I wish I give everyone book 2 now since it was finished over a year ago…but alas, publishing takes time! :P

And duuuude, have done a Robin Hobb fan girl squee before? Where we mentioned fave characters? (I think we might have on Twitter!) I’m all about BRASHEN, Malta, and the Fool!!

          • Avery Moore
            Posted January 7, 2013 at 12:48 pm | Permalink

Yeah, I might have gushed over the Fool and Malta on Twitter (on multiple occasions even, I really don’t have any self-control). The Fool is just an amazing character, but Malta… When I first read the Liveship Traders Trilogy (when I was 14, I think) I thought she was a bitch. And at the end of the trilogy, she was my favorite character. (Which reminds me, I’m still suuuuuuper jealous you got to go to dinner with Robin Hobb.) I don’t really remember Brashen very well though, was he the guy who was with Althea? It’s been too long, I really need to reread these books.

And yes, I know, unfortunately. But it sucks even more, because it takes at least two weeks for a book to get here after the release date, and I know I’ll want a physical copy (’cause nothing beats a real book). And I won’t have school, so I’ll be going crazy. And I might have to hide it from my mom, since I “read too much”, as if that’s possible?!

  15. Posted January 7, 2013 at 9:26 am | Permalink

Woot! So glad we are BACK! Happy 2013, all! And besides the books listed above, I am anxiously awaiting the sequels to so many of my PC colleagues’ books!!! This should be another fantastic year! :)

Obviously I’m excited for all the PC books that are going to come out this year. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that we’re going to get Stephanie Perkins Isla and the Happily Ever After! (Still obsessed with St. Claire, but who isn’t?) I’m extremely excited for Gayle Forman’s new book that comes out today (yay!). I’m BEYOND excited for Ruta Septeys’ book Out of the Easy. Her first book, Between Shades of Gray, is one of my all time favourites, and I just cannot stand the wait for Out of the Easy! Thanks for the giveaway!

Without doubt, the book I’m most excited about is The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon.

Oooh… this is hard! There’re so many books I can’t wait to get my hands on this year. BUT! If I had to narrow it down to three, I’d choose: “Let The Sky Fall” by Shannon Messenger, “Prodigy” by your very own Marie Lu, and “Clockwork Princess” by Cassandra Clare. :)

I’m glad I survived so I can read: Scarlet, Siege and Storm, The Madman’s Daughter, and Perfect Scoundrels. I’ve never heard of a lot of the books above, so I’m also glad I survived to hear about them and pick some up at the library, haha.

There are SO many that I’m looking forward to. I just ordered The Archived, Under the Never Sky, and Prodigy, so you know I’m excited about those. Splintered is fabulous so I’m looking forward to having a paper copy. I guess the ones I’m probably most excited for are Scarlet and Siege and Storm, plus Shadows now that I know about it. I LOVE Robin McKinley!

I’m glad I survived to see the last installment of the Spy Girls Series, by Ally Carter. I started reading it back nearly six years ago and it would have been a shame if right when the last one were to come out the world would have ended :P
