Crown of Midnight releases TODAY!

Crown-of-MidnightIt is FINALLY THAT TIME. The day I know many of you (myself included) have been waiting for…

Crown of Midnight is OUT.

It’s in the wild and available at a US bookstore near you!

Thank goodness, right? If we had to wait any longer for our Celaena-Chaol-Dorian-Nehemia fix, there might be rioting in the streets. You think I’m joking, but there were literally mobs of the violent variety at Book Expo America this year over ARCs of Crown of Midnight. Sarah’s book is REALLY that highly anticipated. And what can I say? It’s awesome and it darn well should be that highly anticipated. Have you guys seen the accolades for Throne of Glass?

Yeah. Your mind is blown by the number of glowing reactions, isn’t it?

And that was just book 1. Book 2 is sweeping the reviewers by storm. A perfect 4.5 stars from RT and a starred review from Kirkus are no minor feat, my friends. Nor is a whopping 4.6 star rating on Goodreads before the book is even out.

But enough hyping up Crown of Midnight—I’m sure you already know what to expect (answer = one hell of an epic fantasy read), and the purpose of my post here is less to pimp out Sarah’s wonderful book and more to congratulate her.

Because honestly, guys, she has worked so hard (as authors tend to do) and all of us here at Pub(lishing) Crawl are SO DARN PROUD to see her next book on shelves. She and her series deserve every ounce of success (and many ounces more, if you ask us).

Now for a really cheesy one-on-one congratulatory message: Sarah, you’re my bestest friend in the whole-whole-whole Axis (Starkillers inside joke there, folks), and when you gave me that ARC of Crown of Midnight in the middle of the Dallas Airport, I cried some of my ugliest tears ever. Yet, in true Sarah-fashion, rather than be all sweet about it, you instead laughed at how ugly I become when I cry. But that’s part of why I love you (you’re just as snide as Celaena).

I honestly could not be happier or prouder to see your next Throne of Glass novel hitting stores.

And, as you say in Crown of Midnight: best friends until we’re nothing but dust. ♥

NOW, to celebrate the awesomeness that is Sarah’s release day, we’re hosting a giveaway of Crown of MidnightAll you have to do is leave a comment below telling us YOUR fave Throne of Glass character (if you have one), and we’ll choose a winner next week!

Chaol. I absolutely, positively and completely adore the hell out of that guy. At first, he was this cold, horribly stoic guy but he turned out to be someone else entirely and I loved, loved and loved his character growth.

    Yaaaaay!!!
Congrats on another awesome book, Sarah!

Oh my goodness, Sarah, I am so, so, so proud of you. I have been waiting for Crown of Midnight for a long time and I just want to say congratulations. And thank you, thank you, thank you so much for giving us Celaena.

Chaol -without a doubt because I love the grumpy guys. But Dorian… he’s gotten so much DEEPER and I just can’t wait to see him grow even more. I think he’s going to be/ do something incredible in the future and I can’t wait to see what it is.

    CONGRATS on the release!!! ♪

I actually haven’t read Throne of Glass yet, but I really want to, because of all of the positive feedback for it. So many bloggers have said how much they love the book, and I really want to know who’s Celaena and Chaol. If I win this, then that’s motivation to get the first book!

  6. Cordelia Aug 27 2013 at 9:49 am #

I absolutely love Celaena! This is a girl who’s strong and witty!

  7. Stacy L Aug 27 2013 at 10:23 am #

My favorite character would be Celaena, which I know is the obvious choice, but I don’t care because she is WICKED AWESOME!!! And also because she is the constant through the series this far, if I include the novellas which were so well-developed. I really enjoyed ToG, but then once I read the four novellas, I was even more in love with Celaena because her back story was so much more clear.

My favorite villain is Arobynn because he is so evil and manipulative. I really hope he reappears during CoM because after reading The Assassin and the Empire, I am dying to see Celaena kick the crap out of him!

My favorite tragic character is Sam because WOW, I was a blubbering, sobbing, hysterical mess at the end of The Assassin and the Empire – Ms. Maas: that was absolute emotional torture!

But that is what makes this series so incredible: Ms.Maas takes us on an emotional roller coaster, and I don’t ever want the ride to end. I can’t wait to get my hands on CoM today and sit down, buckle up, and be swept away for all the twists and turns that I know will be coming my way. So exciting!!!

CONGRATS, SARAH! I am so damn happy for you and for this book to FINALLY be on shelves!

Honestly, Celaena gives me so much hope, and for that she is my favorite character. And because I feel like Celaena and Chaol are equals in this unbelievable awesome way, he’s right beside her on my favorites list.

I woke up this morning, the amazon box was on the kitchen table, and I did the happiest of happy dances, which is really something given it was 8AM. just saying.

Celaena! I love characters who’s strong.

  11. Taryn Aug 27 2013 at 11:09 am #

Chaol is my favorite character in this series. He is so serious but he also has that soft side and he can be just as snide as Celaena! 🙂 Not to mention the fact that he is completely SWOON WORTHY! LOVE!!!

Can’t wait to get my hands on Crown of Midnight and devour it! Congrats Sarah! =)

  12. Katie Aug 27 2013 at 11:20 am #

I don’t pick favorites! GAH. BUT, if I had to pick one side of the sort-of love triangle, it’d be Chaol. So…booyah!

Congrats, Sarah, for your second book coming out! It feels like just yesterday ToG came out but it didn’t so…yeah. =]

    Definitely Celaena!!!

Chaol’s my favourite character. He’s so genuinely good, but not nauseatingly so. You don’t find characters like Chaol everyday.

  16. Dreams Aug 27 2013 at 12:05 pm #

    Congrats!

I don’t have a favorite yet. Each time I think I have one, someone else tries to take their place.

  17. Kateri Ransom Aug 27 2013 at 12:18 pm #

Congrats! I’m going to run to my library and MAKE SURE they have it. If not….oh, if not.
Of course, I’m beyond excited to see where the luuuuv triangle goes, and I ADORE Celaena as a main character–she makes me laugh AND she’s badass, of course–but I gotta say that I have an especially favorable place in my heart for Nehemia, perhaps it’s the princess thing? I dunno. But she’s a pretty cool chic. 🙂
    Again, BIG WOLLOPPING CONGRATS!!!

Happy 2nd book birthday, Sarah!!! I can’t wait to read Crown of Midnight. My favorite character might be Nehemia. I wanted more of her in book 1, so I’m looking forward to seeing her again in Book 2. Woohoo!

  19. kate Aug 27 2013 at 12:32 pm #

This got me all teared up. You and sarah are such an awesome pair. 🙂 I hope that I don’t cry when I go to her book signing tomorrow. Its going to be amazing to meet someone in person whom ive admired for years

  20. Natalie Aguirre Aug 27 2013 at 1:39 pm #

So can’t wait to read this. I love Caleana. And I’ve seen such great reviews for this.

  21. Ada Aug 27 2013 at 1:45 pm #

Well needless to say I adore all the characters from ToG. Besides our fierce heroine Celaena, I grew to love Nehemia also. The two’s friendship is just priceless.

Super congrats on your launch, Sarah! 🙂

  22. Caitlin Vanasse Aug 27 2013 at 3:30 pm #

There are so many characters to love in these books but I think I really really love Nehemia (yes). I love the ways she pushes Celaena and the ways she supports her, the way she is a symbol for her people and her perseverance and the grace she displays while fulfilling her role. AND I love her overall womance (or whatever we’re calling that) with Celaena. I think Celaena needs to be grounded with a good female BFF (what with all the boys wanting to marry/boff/kill her and all that) and Nehemia is that in Throne of Glass and Crown of Midnight.

  23. Rida Aug 27 2013 at 5:01 pm #

I wanna congratulate Sarah with all my HEART and send big big hugs her way. I LOVE LOVE this series and I am Dying to get my hands on the next book!! My favorite characters are Celaena (who is soo Awesome and I love her Kickass-ness and stubbornness 😀 ) and of course Chaol <3 <3 (Love both of their fights and their friendship)
Thanks soo uch for the giveaway 🙂 🙂

  24. sue ya Aug 27 2013 at 9:46 pm #

Congrats Sarah! Another baby out in the world 🙂
My favorite character is Celaena Sardothien. She has one of the most intruguing arc ever. She’s very relatable character & despite of her nosiness half of the time. I believe shes a very likeable character. I love how she uses her beauty, wits & her ninja skills to protect the people she love, that is so admirable.

Congratulations Sarah! I’ve been waiting for this book ever since I finished Throne of Glass! There are so many good characters in that book, but I’d have to say Celaena was my favorite! She was such a great mix of strength and vulnerability.

  26. Joni Aug 28 2013 at 8:10 am #

I think Sarah has written a beautifully raw and realistic leading lady who is still mysterious in a way that makes me wonder what’s going through her head. Celaena would have to be my favorite. Thanks for the giveaway and congrats Sarah! Looking forward to reading this one- as well many more to come. ^.^

  27. Rae Aug 28 2013 at 8:31 am #

Congratulations, Sarah! My favourite is probably Dorian. Can’t wait to see what happens in CoM!

  28. Diana Sousa Aug 28 2013 at 11:12 am #

Oh, I can’t choose a favourite! But I do know I can’t wait to read this book!
    Congratulations, Sarah!

  29. Alexa Y. Aug 28 2013 at 2:46 pm #

Congratulations Sarah! You already know how much I adore this series, and I am so excited and pleased that the rest of the world now has the opportunity to experience the awesomeness that is Crown of Midnight. It’s a wonderful follow-up to Throne of Glass, and just thinking about it has me wanting to re-read it (a certain part in particular)!

  30. Maricar Aug 29 2013 at 1:20 am #

Celaena Sardothien, because she is multilayered! Her character development from all previous novellas up to this full length novel were done masterfully. I love how she can be both strong and vulnerable at the same time.

  31. Loie Aug 29 2013 at 10:26 am #

Congrats Sarah 🙂 I can’t wait to read Crown of Midnight!!! I really, really love Chaol hahahahah and of course Celaena 😀

  32. Alyssa Aug 29 2013 at 11:35 am #

I’m reading THRONE OF GLASS right now! And it’s SO HARD to pick a favorite character. That’s probably the thing I love the most about the book: it has a kickass cast of wonderful, deep, layered, lovable characters. That said, boy do I love Chaol. 😉

  33. Lauren Aug 29 2013 at 1:09 pm #

All the characters in Throne of Glass were wonderful. The character development was fantastic and completely unexpected in several ways for me. I found myself loving certain characters and cheering them on and despising others and hoping they met a sticky end. I have to say Nox was my favourite character although he didn’t play a huge role in the book. He was rather sweet and I’d have loved to see the friendship between him and Celaena grow.
Congratulations on the new book Sarah!

  34. Lori Aug 29 2013 at 10:37 pm #

I’d say Chaol. I have such a weakness for good guys.

  35. surb Aug 29 2013 at 11:00 pm #

I adore Celaena – she’s funny, feisty, and SMART! Congratulations, Sarah!

  36. Janel Kane Aug 30 2013 at 11:38 am #

First I’ve heard of it but added it to my TBR list and shared to FB page.

  38. Rachel Aug 31 2013 at 8:01 pm #

Gahhhh! That cover is so gorgeous! Can’t wait to read it. Congrats, Sarah!

  39. Adrian Aug 31 2013 at 11:22 pm #

Congrats! I’m so happy the next book is finally out, and I look forward to all the other Throne of Glass novels you write (as well as anything and everything else). I just finished Crown of Midnight last night and OH MY GODS IT WAS AMAZING. But I’ma try to win this to spread the CoM love (I made my friends read Throne of Glass and now they’re clambering for the sequel, but it was so glorious and my copy is so pretty and new and perfect that I don’t want to give it to ANYONE. So I’m doing this so I can hopefully get another copy to share with friends. So many good books are coming out now and in the near future that I can’t afford to buy another copy at the moment, and my friends are pretty freakin poor).

But anyways, my favorite character? Oh good lord this is a toughie. Ummm. Elena is definitely one of them, because, come on, who doesn’t love centuries-old-ghosts of warrior-queens? She’s a certain brand of bad*ss, and she’s just so… ugh. I can’t even explain my love for her.

And, of course, another is Celaena. Lots have said it and probably will say it, but Throne of Glass is, at it’s core, Celaena’s story. Her growth throughout the novellas and these two novels is astounding, but she still retains some of her original traits that made me love her. Her character is just so alive; she goes through so many phases and emotions that sometimes I love her and sometimes I hate her and throughout everything I’m feeling what she’s feeling. She is so well-rounded that it’s scary.

  40. Sarah Sep 1 2013 at 5:31 am #

Congratulations! Haven’t read the first yet, but it looks AMAZING – will do soon!

  41. Vera R Sep 1 2013 at 7:18 am #

My favorite character is definitely Dorian. He’s smart, cute, funny and has depth. What more could I look for in a dream prince?!?
